Hello and welcome to my diary of photos. It is my goal to post one photo that I have taken here in Vermont on this website every day. The way I see it, if I spend such a large amount of my time wasting the day away online I may as well do something somewhat productive.

A view of Lake Champlain from a park in Burlington. This was taken in "sunset" mode on my new camera. No alterations were made to the image other than straightening it. - Burlington, VT

FINALLY!!!! Computer issues resolved! I spent a good 4+ hours today figuring things out, mainly through guess and check. All of my photos are now on an external hard drive, so it looks like I won't be having any more issues with lack of storage space. Vermont du Jour is back in business!

p.s. Click on this image (and others) to enlarge it, it looks a lot cooler.

Hi. So it looks like my blog is going to have to take a break while I figure out all of this obnoxious computer stuff. Any advice on how to deal with not having enough memory space to transfer photos from my camera to my computer would be much appreciated (in the comment section).

Mt. Peg sign covered in ice from a storm a few winters ago - Woodstock, Vermont

Fantastic, incredible, awesome, exciting news: I GOT A NEW CAMERA FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!! Thank you parents SO MUCH! I.Am. Ecstatic!I've been hoping and waiting for a new camera for SUCH a long time! The camera is a Nikon d5000 and it takes absolutely incredible photographs. I now have much more freedom in terms of the photos I take. Of course, it will take me months to fully figure out all of the camera's controls so most of my photos will be in "auto" or "scene" modes for quite a while but the quality will be SO much better than that of my point-and-shoot Olympus camera. Also, my computer is running very low on disk space so I'm anticipating quite a lot of trouble downloading the Nikon software; this means that the photos I post will probably continue to be old ones for a while until I get everything figured out. Did I mention I'm excited?

I took this photo in '07 at my old house in Pomfret. My computer, in its infinite dumbness, is refusing to let me go online so I'm using my mom's laptop for the time being. Unfortunately this means that I can only use very old photos because all of my most recent photos are on my computer.

Happy Buddha. Taken in "super macro" mode. Buddha was purchased at Pearl River, a very cool store in SOHO, NYC. http://www.pearlriver.com/v2/index.html
